States test
I. I was given a blank map of the United States and assigned to label every state by name and give its capital city.
II. This assignment proved to me that although I know the general location of where the states were I had no idea where some of them were exactly. I felt that I did not know my country enough, and it seemed like I was so distant.
III. I learned to appreciate the diversity of the United States more. Sure. I live in California, and we always seem to make ourselves seem way more important than everyone else. However, I see that there is a tremendous amount of America that I have not yet explored, and there is much to learn about it. It made me truly realize how exciting and amazing it is to be born and raised in the United States.

Forming the three branches of government
I. Each person in my class was assigned to play either a Federalist or Anti-Federalist who partook in creating the three branches of government. We conducted a two-day conference in which we played our roles and formed our own three branches of government for America.
II. I saw how difficult it was to agree on certain aspects of the branches. Furthermore, there are so many issues that needed to be addressed. Creating and being in the government is extremely complicated I learned, but this process was a very good experience and furthered enhanced my knowledge of American government.
III. I like these hands-on activities that are more than just the textbook. The engagement level is higher, and it is a more rewarding way of teaching. For many students, this type of associative learning and interaction really helps them grow and learn better. Overall, it enhanced my learning experience.
