dtasc (drama teachers association of southern california) fall festival
I. With the DTASC (Drama Teachers Association of Southern California) competition, I was cast to play Wang Ta in Flower Drum Song in the Open Musical category. We were given eight minutes to perform snippets of the musical while telling the story.
II. It was the first time that I had done theatre work in a competitive setting, so it was a new experience. It was also my first time playing a character of the same ethnicity (Chinese-American).
III. I think all my education in theatre is always great and outside the classroom setting. My communication skills were utilized, and the expression of self is so greatly valued with my work in theatre.

Senior one-act projects
I. I was an assistant director for the one-act play The Red Coat. I helped Connie Banhg, the director,
II. It was my first time directing, and I always wanted to have a chance to direct. I think the role of a director is one that I like very much and can excel at. I value the experience of working in other aspects of theatre and with actors in a different way.
III. I learned to deal with actors in an entirely different way. Actor to actor relationships differ quite a lot, a lot more than I thought they would compared to actor to director relationships. Once again, I value all my theatre work as a different type of learning that is beyond the classroom.
